Beginner's Guide To Getting Shredded

Updated: Nov 9, 2020

The chances are that at one point of your life you wanted to get in shape or didn't get dreamy results with a problem being you did not know where to begin.

Having a proper mindset is the key and knowing how to eat/workout and how much. Firstly you need a deficit to burn fat therefore set a goal to lose 1-2 pounds a week meaning set a 500-1000 calorie deficit. Secondly you don't want to loose muscle mass else you will look like a skeleton so eating enough protein is essential.

Starting with workouts may be hard for you at first but after a while you get used to the burning sensation. I personally workout 4 times a week although this is purely subjective. Rest days are litteraly necessary as muscles need time to recover consequently take some days per week to completly rest your muscles. Considering you don't hit your calorie deficit try doing cardio or HIIT which is faster but harder alternatively go for a walk if you don't feel like sweating but keep in mind that it doesn't burn as much calories in the same amout of time.

This is the factor which determines whether or not you lose body fat. Firstly determine your basal metabolic rate (BMR) by using an online calculator. These are the calories burned by simply not doing anything, along add the calories burned by other activities and you get your total daily expenditure which is the number that you subtract the calories from, yet don't simply rely on counting calories as they are solely an estimate.

Let's face the truth, food is the main shaping factor hence don't skip this part. To eat the best way you can for a cut you need to keep your muscles filled with protein so you don't loose muscle mass, the same way goes for energy as your primary source of fuel are carbs. There is no magic ratio for macros while it is subjective, but in my opinion try to eat 50% of protein 35% carbs and the rest is fat. The chances are that if you think a certain food is healthy it probably is thus try eating that and all things beside definetely get your veggies and fruit for the vitamins and minerals.

Achieving a dream body may a tough task but eventually you will get there and when you do it is the best feeling of success thus don't skip too many workout and take those breaks.
